I am a third generation sawmill operator on both sides. One of my grandfathers did a grain and sawmill establishment while the other worked as a railroad engineer and sawmill entrepreneur. My parents were the ones who actually made Creveling Sawmill into the brand name, so that is why we state that the mill was started in 1962 and not earlier.
When we started our original website in 2005 or 2006, we had a couple of catch phrases that I still think are applicable today:
"Logs to Lumber plus a couple of other things"
And
"If you don't see it ... ask. If we don't have it, we probably know where to get it."
It seems like just yesterday that those words were written, but they were from the heart. I truly believe this is why our business has sustained the hardships, especially in 2008 when the economy took a dive. It was a few people who came up here and there that kept everything going, and I wish to thank each and every one. From there, we built our capacity and network to meet the needs of homeowners, professionals, and government. Today, we look to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. We always look forward to:
"We found you!!" "You have it?!!"
I am proud to hear comments like this, and proud that my parents Ernest and Mollie Creveling brought this to reality. They never believed in advertising (word of mouth was it), and had the belief if you have a good product, it sells itself. Times have changed, but we haven't.
We are finally on the internet, but the way I look at it, that's pretty much word of mouth these days. If you are looking for true wood products, there is a good chance that we have it. If we don't, over a half century of experience will point you in the right direction.
